New eBooks! Tibetan Clothing Culture Series: Drago Clothing & Minyak Clothing Now Available in Multiple Languages

Due to the impact of globalization, many traditional cultures are at risk of disappearing, and Tibetan culture is no exception. In response, Khenpo Sodargye decided to start with Tibetan clothing and adornments to help rescue and protect this traditional culture.

In 2018, Khenpo Sodargye established the Drago Deda Tibetan Costume Museum, leading teams to Kham, Amdo, U Tsang, and other Tibetan regions to collect ancient Tibetan garments, interview elders, and systematically document the production techniques, material classifications, and historical origins of these costumes.

In 2020, the Tibetan Plateau Clothing Research Center was founded to develop the Tibetan Clothing Culture Book Series. The goal is to publish one book each year, gradually introducing the unique clothing traditions of different Tibetan regions to share Tibetan culture with the world.

We are excited to announce that the first two volumes—Drago Clothing and Minyak Clothing—are now available as eBooks in multiple languages, including French, German, Korean, Swedish, Vietnamese, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and Russian. These books offer fascinating insights into Tibetan traditional costumes, inviting readers worldwide to explore and appreciate this unique cultural heritage.
