The Beginning

Take refuge and arouse bodhichitta.

The Main Part

Meditate: By giving up killing, you have a long life with few illnesses; by giving up taking what is not given, you enjoy prosperity and freedom from wants; by giving up sexual misconduct, you have a harmonious family and no enemy. If you uphold these three positive actions, you enjoy a good life now and in the future will attain the happiness of higher realms. Therefore, resolve: I must engage in the three positive actions of the body.

The Ending

Dedicate all the merit of your practice to all sentient beings.


On the surface, these lines seem simple and easy to understand, but I’m afraid most people have not behaved as advised. Believe me, if you reflect and work on it, you’ll witness a distinct effect on yourself.
