New Talk Available: Buddhist Perspective in the Era of Materialism

On October 2, 2018, Khenpo Sodargye Rinpoche was invited by the Department of Theology and Religious Studies of the University of Botswana to give a speech entitled “The Buddhist Perspective in the Era of Materialism”. Looking back at the conflicts and wars in human history, Khenpo Sodargye recounted the negative impacts of materialism. Such a value system continues to exert negative impacts on the modern world, causing the increasingly widening gap between the rich and the poor. Khenpo pointed out that the root of many problems in human history is the prevalence of egocentrism and indifference to the suffering of others.
